Our Direction

Making disciples who love God and people.

We do this by inviting people to take three steps:

  1. Worship
  2. Fellowship
  3. Serve

We worship together in our Sunday gatherings. We fellowship in smaller discipleship groups. We serve on ministry teams. That's our simple, but tried & true process for making disciples who love God and people.

Staff

  • Dr. Victor Borchard: Lead Pastor

Victor Borchard has a passion for reaching and teaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In addition to serving at Calvary Crossroads, Victor also serves on the Adjunct Faculty of Pacific Bible College and chairs the Procedures Committee of CVNW to help churches plant churches.

Victor earned his Doctor of Ministry at Corban University. His education also includes a Masters of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary and a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Mennonite University.

He and his wife, Jenny, met at Bible College in Austria where he lived for the better part of three years. They have three precious daughters.

  • Jim Burnham: Associate Pastor of Worship and Family Ministries

Jim Burnham is driven by a desire to worship the Lord and to see others worship Him not only in song but also in lifestyle. It’s to this end he has dedicated his life.

Being involved in Christian ministry since his early twenties, Jim has served in a variety of positions. He served as a missionary to Mexico in the late 1980s. He has been a teacher and administrator in a private Christian school. Throughout that time, he served as a worship leader and, intermittently, as a lay pastor. Jim also served as Family Ministries pastor for several years before coming to Calvary Crossroads. Most recently, he was a 4th grade teacher at Jacksonville Elementary School.

Jim has been married to his beloved wife, Diana, for over 37 years, working hand in hand in ministry together. They have five children and thirteen grandchildren.

  • Richard Kuhlman: Associate Pastor of Youth Ministries

Richard Kuhlman believes it is critical to attract the next generation of disciples to the biblically rock solid, and loving church, Calvary Crossroads.

Richard pastored youth and children at Calvary Crossroads from 2002 to 2009 and he is committed to its mission to make disciples who love God and people.  However, from 2009 to 2021, he worked primarily with 20 somethings while serving as a U.S. Army Chaplain. While engaged in this arena, Richard saw first-hand how young adults who had been well discipled and parented thrived in a challenging environment. Now, he wants to partner with parents in raising strong disciples equipped for a lifetime of loving God and people.

Richard graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Christian Education. Once upon a time he also graduated from New Hope Christian School.

Richard and his wife of 33 years, Melissa have 2 children and 5 grandchildren who all live in Oregon. Richard and Melissa love to travel when they are not engaged in ministry, chasing the grandkids, or working on their farm, Everett Acres.

  • Nancy Englen: Bookkeeper

Nancy moved to Grants Pass from California in 1979 with her husband, Darcy.

She did the bookkeeping for Darcy when he was self employed as a software developer.

She also home schooled their 3 children.

In 2006 the empty nest was fast approaching when the Lord opened up the need for a bookkeeper at Calvary Church.  She held that position until the merger with River Valley.

She has been the bookkeeper at Calvary Crossroads since March 2016

  • Mallory Patton: Church Secretary

Mallory joined the Calvary Crossroads staff in 2017 after working in the customer service and social services industries. She has a passion for caring for others and serving them in a positive way.

She has been married to her husband, Chuck, for 17 years and together they have three beautiful children.

Mallory says working in the Calvary Crossroads office with others who share their love for Christ is an amazing and blessed experience.

  • Bill Yehle : Facilities

Bill Yehle joined the Calvary Crossroads staff after retiring from his own electrical contracting business. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren who live locally.

Bill loves doing the Lord's work and being surrounded by loving Christian co-workers. He gives God all the praise and glory.

Pastor Emeritus

Bob Bonner is passionate about encouraging others in knowing Jesus Christ in a deeper and more intimate way through his expositional teaching/preaching of God's Word.

He came to know Christ personally during his college years. After graduation from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in economics, he earned a real estate license and worked for a major land development corporation for a short period of time.  During that time Bob recognized God's call upon his life to serve as a pastor.  He resigned his position to attend Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Theology degree.  He has pastored in New Jersey and Arizona before setting down roots in Grants Pass in 1986.  He has been here ever since.

While in college, he met his wife Becky, who is also passionate about helping women grow as godly wives and mothers.  They have been serving Jesus Christ together ever since.  They have three children and eight grandchildren.

While not currently serving as an Elder or on Staff, we include his bio here in an endeavor to honor our brother and appreciate his three decades of service at Crossroads.
