Our Direction

Making disciples who love God and people.

We do this by inviting people to take three steps:

  1. Worship
  2. Fellowship
  3. Serve

We worship together in our Sunday gatherings. We fellowship in smaller discipleship groups. We serve on ministry teams. That's our simple, but tried & true process for making disciples who love God and people.

Staff

  • Jim Burnham: Lead Pastor

Jim Burnham is driven by a desire to worship the Lord and to see others worship Him not only in song but also in lifestyle. It’s to this end he has dedicated his life.

Being involved in Christian ministry since his early twenties, Jim has served in a variety of positions. He served as a missionary to Mexico in the late 1980s. He has been a teacher and administrator in a private Christian school. Throughout that time, he served as a worship leader and, intermittently, as a lay pastor. Jim also served as Family Ministries pastor for several years before coming to Calvary Crossroads. Most recently, he was a 4th grade teacher at Jacksonville Elementary School.

Jim has been married to his beloved wife, Diana, for over 37 years, working hand in hand in ministry together. They have five children and thirteen grandchildren.

At the suggestion of one of Calvary Crossroads previous Lead Pastors, Victor Borchard, and guidance from the Lord, Ben began his formal theological education in January of 2017.  In 2020, he graduated from Luther Rice University with his BA in Religious Studies.

Beginning in 2017 Ben served as Deacon of Men’s Ministry at Calvary Crossroads until 2020. In May of 2020 Ben was called and confirmed as an Elder at Calvary Crossroads.

Ben has been married to his bride, Marissa, since 2008 and they have been blessed with 4 beautiful children. They have a small homestead and homeschool their kids.

Ben has sensed a call on his life from the Lord for vocational ministry and continues to pursue formal theological education as well as informal. Ben really enjoys the historical/cultural connection to the Bible and sharing.
