Our Theology

Get to know more about what we believe.

Doctrine matters. Here's ours:

The Bible
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 10:11; John 19:35; John 20:30-31)

God the Father
There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4; Matthew 18:19; 28:19; John 10:30; 17:5; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 1:20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

God the Son
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 1:16, 20, 23; Luke 1:34; 24:39; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 21-22; 2 Corinthians 5:15; Ephesians 4:10; Hebrews 1:3; 4:15; 1 Peter 2:5-9; 1 John 2:1)

God the Holy Spirit
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict mankind of sin; to simultaneously regenerate, permanently seal, indwell, and baptize the believing sinner into the one body of Christ. He further guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service. We believe that there is one baptism of the Holy Spirit but many fillings. These fillings do not demand any experiential manifestation. (John 15:26; 16:13-14; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9, 26-27; 1 Corinthians 2:11, 14; 3:16; 12:13; Galatians 5:22-23; Ephesians 5:18; Titus 3:5)

Humanity
Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can eternal salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:26-27; John 3:3; 6-7; Romans 1:18; 3:20; 5:12; 7:21-25; Ephesians 2:1-3; Titus 3:5-6)

Salvation
The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for the justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become the children of God. (John 3:16; Romans 3:23-25; Romans 6:23; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 3:13; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 2:9; 1 John 2:2)

Furthermore, we support the following distinctive doctrinal statements of faith:

Last Things
The personal, premillenial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our "blessed hope" and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Philippians 3:20-21; Titus 2:13; Revelation 22:20)

Resurrections
There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment. (Luke 16:22-28; 23:43; John 12:26; Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:22-26; 50-55; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10; Ephesians 2:12; Philippians 1:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:5; 11-15)

The Church
The true Church is composed of all such persons, who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. We also believe in the priesthood of every believer and that each individual believer should exercise his/her spiritual gifts. (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13;12:13; 12:22-27; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:15-22; 4:1-6; Philippians 2:1-5; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 10:25)

Ordinances
Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord's Supper is a memorial service, setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ: all true believers and only believers should share in it. Both baptism and the Lord's supper are ordinances that Christ, Himself commanded us to obey. (Matthew 28:19-20; 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Matthew 3:16; John 3:22-23; Acts 2:37-41; 8:34-39; Romans 6:1-11; 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:14-20)
